Quick Start Guide

Welcome to SwingSlapp! This guide will walk you through the basics of using the app to record, analyze, and improve your golf swing.

Getting Started

  1. Download the App
    Download SwingSlapp from the App Store or Google Play (coming soon) and install it on your smartphone.
  2. Create an Account
    • Open the app and select Continue.
    • Choose one of the following sign-up options:
      • Continue with Email: Enter your email, firstname, lastname and create a password.
      • Continue with Apple or Continue with Google: Tap to log in using your Apple or Google account.

Recording a Swing

  1. Open the Camera
    • Tap the Record button on the main dashboard to access the camera.
  2. Set Up Your Shot
    • Position your phone to capture a full view of your swing.
    • You can use a tripod or ask someone to hold the camera steady.
  3. Record
    • Tap the Record button.
    • Swing your club and tap Stop once you're done.

Analyzing Your Swing

  1. Open the Swing Library
    • Go to Video Library from the main dashboard to view all saved swings.
  2. Select a Swing
    • Tap on a swing video to open it for analysis.
  3. Analyze with Tools
    • Use the following tools to break down your swing:
      • Draw: Add lines or shapes to track your movement and club path.
      • Hide: Toggle all drawings on/off.
      • Angles: Toggle to display angles for each line.
      • Flip: Mirror your video, e.g. if you are left-handed and want to compare your swing.
      • Zoom: Use two fingers for pinch zooming and positioning the video.
      • Compare: Load another swing to compare side-by-side.

Watching Instructional Videos

  1. Access the Instruction Library
    • Tap on Watch from the main dashboard.
  2. Browse Topics
    • Choose from various topics like:
      • Swing Analysis Techniques
      • Common Swing Errors
      • Improvement Drills
  3. Watch and Learn
    • Tap a video to play it.
    • Take notes on techniques you can apply in your own analysis.

Tips for Best Results

  • Practice Regularly: Try to record and analyze your swings after each practice session.
  • Watch Videos: Use instructional videos to deepen your understanding of swing mechanics.
  • Compare Progress: Regularly compare your old and new swings to track your improvement.
